Formed in 1998, nano.RIPE consists of two members, Kimiko and Jun Sasaki, who were classmates in high school in Chiba, Japan. Even when they were still independent record label artists, they performed in a great number of live shows together, including a nationwide tour of 63 shows in 3 months. Their major debut was on September 22, 2010.
They have composed and performed theme songs for a wide range of TV anime, including “Hanasaku Iroha,” “Non Non Biyori,” “Bakuman,” “Food Wars!”, and also “Minna no Uta” for NHK, Japan’s public media organization.
In addition to their own music, they also compose songs for other artists and continue to expand their musical activities, including a one-man live tour across all 47 prefectures, planetarium performances, and festival appearances at ROCK IN JAPAN and COUNTDOWN JAPAN.
In 2025, they released their 8th full-length album to celebrate the 15th anniversary of their major debut.
