From June 7 to 14, 2024, the Angela Hondru Romanian-Japanese Studies Center (CSRJ-AH) and the Embassy of Japan in Romania organized Ajisai Matsuri, the 10th edition of the Japanese Culture Days Festival. The program included exhibitions, workshops, and demonstrations showcasing Japanese traditions such as tea ceremonies and ikebana, culminating in the “Ajisai Matsuri” Gala. Special guests included Katsunori Meshii (Soukoku), tea master and vice president of the Urasenke School in Osaka, and ikebana artist Tenkeii Nomura, who delivered impressive demonstrations. Additionally, three members from Kyoto’s “flower district” – Ayano, Taka, and Hidesaki – delighted the audience with a traditional dance performance. The event also celebrated 19 years of CSRJ-AH’s activity, highlighting the cultural ties between Romania and Japan.
