Since October 2012, the “Angela Hondru” Romanian-Japanese Studies Center organizes Taiko courses (traditional Japanese drums). One of the first recorded uses of Taiko drums was on the battlefield, the purpose being to intimidate and frighten the enemy.
Also used in cultural settings, over time, taiko began to be used in traditional Japanese festivals, giving rise to a variety of traditional rhythms, which are now an endless source of inspiration for musicians.
